The MCA-Mali Program The Government of Mali is pleased with its eligibility to the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA). The Millennium Challenge Funding is an initiative of the American Government intended to contribute to the increased growth and the fight against poverty in some of the Less Developed Countries (LDC). The Government believes that this mark of confidence, based on the appreciation of the policies developed and the practices in progress in the country, is an honor for all the people of Mali, for its Government, the Local Authorities, Advisory Bodies, the Private Sector, the Civil Society and, in particular, Women Organizations. The Proposal that the Government had the honor to submit to the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), constantly had one major concern, integrate the preoccupations of the populations who are the future beneficiaries of the activities related to the MCA Program. The Proposal was prepared, in accordance with the indications and the criteria agreed upon with Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). Its preparation benefited from a permanent consultation process involving all the economic and social actors. Mali’s Proposal benefits from the constant implication of His Excellency Amadou Toumani TOURE, the Head of State. The President’s office supervises the whole MCA process.
